Lauren is dedicated to telling emotionally driven, yet dynamic stories of people within the United States and across the globe. The themes for most of her work focuses on loss, love, life’s challenges and redemption. Through being open to her subjects and subject matter it has brought her to remote communities throughout the United States such as Alread, Arkansas and Lakota, North Dakota, the Bayous of Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, open drug markets in “Kensington” and Chester, Pennsylvania, fringed communities like Slab City and the inner cities of Detroit and Chicago. Outside the U.S. in places such as Haiti, and the Middle East. As a filmmaker she finds intersections among people from seemingly different worlds and is known for her desire to show close-up and intimate visuals and mediums. She enjoys art and photography and uses both to she believes builds bridges of greater understanding of how we are similar.
